Last Sunset in Morocco

:Sigh::

Well, today I had my last tour. It was the most expensive and most exotic / adventurous of the tours I booked - the Atlas Mountains. We didn't hike or anything (that would have been cool - they had a tour for that but you needed a minimum of 2 people to sign up). We drove up and through the Atlas Mountains in a 4WD, had mint tea with a Berber family, ate lunch at a nice restaurant on a cliff, and watched a demonstration for making argan oil.

trying to crack open the nut they use to
make the oil...it was a challenge.

I got some beautiful pictures. Driving through the Atlas Mountains is like driving through parts of Arizona, except these mountains are much, much taller. Picture Sedona red color and the heights of the Superstitions (except not quite as monolithic-looking in structure), all around you. They have snow on them all year round, I think.

Pretty incredible.

I've been really tired all day. The drive was long and I dozed for bits of it. I kept trying to shake myself awake (of all car rides to fall asleep on!) but it was tough. This trip has been energizing but also exhausting.

I have an early, early morning tomorrow. My flight leaves at 9am and the bus for the airport leaves at 6:15. Mornings. Yuck.

Hopefully the restaurant that serves my favorite almond juice will be open that early. That stuff is almost as good as coffee in the morning. (Almost).

Well, my brain is sort of on autopilot so I'm not sure what else to say. I've had a lot of good times of contemplation on this trip. Facebook is slow and crappy when it comes to uploading pictures, so I haven't uploaded very many yet. But I'm going to work on that tonight.

Goodnight Morocco! And goodbye...
